DESCRIPTION

SCE Credit Union is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Business Systems Analyst to join our collaborative team. As a key player in driving technological advancements and achieving strategic objectives, the successful candidate will bring a meticulous approach and critical thinking skills to analyze business processes, identify areas of improvement, and provide actionable insights. Working closely with internal IT teams, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and delivering solutions for our valued Credit Union members and internal team members.

Salary Details: The posted salary for this position is applicable to candidates residing in California. The wage range may vary for candidates in other states.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Analysis and Design

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document business requirements and objectives.

  • Conduct thorough analysis of business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement, efficiency and to determine pain points.

  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including business requirements, process flows, and user stories.

  • Partner with internal teams and vendor teams to develop detailed designs that meet business requirements.

  • Assist in the implementation and testing of new systems and processes, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of implemented solutions, making necessary adjustments and improvements as needed.

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the successful execution of projects and initiatives within the designated timelines.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with diverse business stakeholders.

Project Management

  • Communicate and document requirements of projects with departments, programmers, technology team, and vendors in a clear and organized fashion.

  • Participate in project implementations including requirements gathering, validation, beta testing, user acceptance performance, deployment, and project closing debrief.

  • Conduct project retrospective and create a recommendation report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements. Takes part in the testing of program fixes submitted by functional department that is geared to resolving operational problems.

  • Coordinate with management on priorities and assignments.

Other

  • Improve technical expertise through training.

  • Ensure up to date knowledge in current interactive technologies, development trends, strategies, products, and best practices.

  • Improve overall knowledge of the Credit Union Industry and company products and services.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess strong multi-tasking, customer service and communication skills. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the areas of project management or business or systems analytics.

  • Three to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.

  • Previous Symitar Episys experience required.

  • Prior experience in programming and / or financial services is a plus.

  • Understanding of agile methodologies, including familiarity with Scrum framework

Other Computer Skills

  • Understanding of relational databases and SQL is preferred.

  • Proficient skills navigating a PC and internet browser.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).

  • Working knowledge of smart phones and using apps.

Interpersonal Skills

  • A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with internal team members and outside vendors can be of a sensitive nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.

  • An adaptable and flexible attitude, with an ability to approach and solve a problem by examining it from different angles.
