Position Summary

The Director’s primary responsibility is managing distribution sales with MSO accounts in an assigned territory by developing and maintaining relationships with distributors. In addition, he/she will be responsible for leveraging a variety of distribution marketing initiatives to exceed distribution goals for AETN’s product portfolio across a variety of distribution platforms including, linear television, HD, VOD, interactive, broadband and mobile content. The individual is responsible for managing various team and department administrative needs such as forecasting, strategic planning, and budgeting. The Director will provide leadership and expertise to the sales team, including managing an Account Manager and/or Sales Coordinator.

Position Responsibilities

*Position AETN networks for launches or detiers to increase distribution thus maximizing revenues and subscribers in assigned territory.
*Negotiate and execute distribution deals with assigned distributors and ensure that network contractual commitments are fulfilled in assigned territory.
*Facilitate regular meetings with all client business units to identify business opportunities.
*Provide deeper coverage of large accounts and distribution opportunities with small systems/MSOs to further Distribution business objectives.
*Maximize AETN’s exposure in assigned territory to increase distribution, viewership, and
position networks for future contract negotiations.
*Provide strategic input on Field Sales budget.
*Lead, manage and mentor direct report(s) with a focus on individual development, empowerment, motivation and strategy.

This position requires extensive travel (about 60%) and will include occasional travel over weekends.


Required Experience:
*BS or BA degree
*Minimum 5 years of cable sales experience at Account Manager level with strong industry knowledge
*Proficiency in all common computer software - Power Point, Excel, Word
*Strong oral, business writing, and presentation skills
*Ability to multitask with organizational and time management competencies
*Outstanding forecasting and sales planning experience
*Ability to review legal documents and negotiate business points
*Collaborative management style, with strong inter-personal skills
