Yoh has an exciting opportunity for a Assembly Technician with expertise in building submodules and integrating instrumentation. Our client is a well-funded, highly-buzz-about Biotech Startup Reporting directly to the Principle Systems Engineer, you would be responsible for independently assembling modules with clear instructions.

Title: Assembly Technician
Hourly: $25-30/ hour
Location: San Diego, CA
Type: Contract with potential for full time

Responsibilities:

- Building the submodules based on the instructions from the engineering team.
- Efficiently organize and construct electromechanical parts following engineering diagrams, plans, and operational guidelines.
- Conduct thorough testing and diagnostics on assembled systems to pinpoint flaws or malfunctions.
- Utilize an array of manual and powered implements, alongside diverse measuring apparatus, for assembly duties.
- Uphold adherence to quality benchmarks and precise specifications throughout the assembly process.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the workspace to uphold safety standards and enhance efficiency.
- Promptly notify supervisors of any equipment, tool, or component-related issues or uncertainties.

Experience:

Cable assembly & routing (multiconductor, discrete wire, crimped pins & housings, terminal lugs, flat flex cables, labelling, fabricating from a drawing)
- Cable troubleshooting & rework
- Fluidics assembly (Upchurch/IDEX fittings, tubing routing)
- Fluidics troubleshooting (pumps, valves, leaks, clogs, kinks)
- Motion integration (integrating and aligning assembled motion stages built with stepper motors, encoders, motor couplers, ball screws, lead screws)
- Sheet metal assembly (rivets, threaded fasteners,
- Sheet metal rework (hand filing, nibbler, grinding, drilling, deburring)
- Module testing (push-button tests via SW, command line tests via FW commands or scripts, manual testing via WI, test data upload)
- System testing (push-button tests via SW, calibrations, using test fixtures, manual testing via WI, test data upload)
- Troubleshooting (motion, fluidics, PCBAs, cables, connectors, sensors, software, firmware)
- Work instruction (following, redlining, writing)
- Inventory management (stock available, stock needed)
- Project/self management (managing priorities, schedule, communicating with stakeholders)
