SUMMARY: The Sr. Manager, Supply Chain & Procurement will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and vision to the Wheeler Fleet Solutions' supply chain organization. This role will administer to the following areas: procurement, inventory management across multiple facilities, strategic sourcing, and product management.

Wheeler has a diverse customer portfolio that includes customers utilizing Wheeler owned inventory (consignment), transactional sales, and a variety of eCommerce related sales ranging from our own WheelerFleet.com site to third party fulfillment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create a short to mid-term Supply Chain strategic plan that encompasses the fast-growing needs of our newer eCommerce and Fleet Sales initiatives while maintaining already established expectations for our longest standing customer, the United States Postal Service (USPS).
  • Lead, manage and develop the purchasing, sourcing, and product management teams.
  • Work cross-functionally with the Sales, Quality & Engineering, Data Analytics, and Operations departments to identify and qualify new vendors, products, and processes.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Quality & Engineering, Data Analytics, and Finance leaders to facilitate alignment and communication across the organization on supply chain related matters through our SIOP process.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of private label products in conjunction with Sales, Engineering, and other departments.
  • Maintain or improve fill rates while adhering to published goals on capital and inventory turns.
  • Develop and communicate functional strategy and objectives for inventory management through demand planning and forecasting, sourcing, private label expansion, e-commerce fulfillment growth, supplier base growth, and international expansion of Supply Chain.
  • Supervise the planning and execution of complex supplier negotiations.
  • Recommends and supervises the preparation of specific proposals where applicable; supervises the management and influences vendor selection, negotiations, and benchmarking.
  • Collaborate and help lead the development and implementation of a full suite of data-driven operational metrics and KPIs which will accurately measure performance in a timely fashion and will inspire continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Establish annual metrics with Vice President, Supply Chain & Operations for inventory value, turns, and product or supplier savings.
  • Develops and mentors a team of supply chain professionals capable of undertaking the current operational initiatives while scaling the company as it continues to grow, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation and the building of an effective team dynamic.
  • Adhere to established company values, practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Visit strategic supply partners and customers to improve overall Supply Chain efficiencies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's degree in supply chain, business administration or related field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.
    • or an additional 6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to communicate and partner effectively across multiple departments, teams, vendors, relationships, and levels to successfully achieve strategic plans.
  • Proven supply chain experience within the automotive industry, either distribution or manufacturing.
  • 5-7 years of leadership experience, building, motivating, and influencing teams.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple teams and work streams to successfully achieve all established plans and goals.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-and-relationship oriented culture.
  • APICS certification.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with Infor M3.
  • Experience with IBM AS400.
  • Experience with Microsoft BI.
