This role will play a vital part in supporting capital projects related to our automation roadmap, integrating energy-efficient technologies and sustainable practices into the fabric of our operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners to deploy and support sourcing strategies, emphasizing the selection of suppliers aligned with our commitment to environmental responsibility. Additionally, you will ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of indirect goods and services, with a focus on sustainability, essential for the successful and eco-friendly implementation of automation projects along with being responsible for the overall Energy Program for the Plant

What you'll be doing
  • Develop and implement comprehensive energy management strategies to optimize resource efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
  • Conduct regular energy audits and assessments to find opportunities for energy conservation and cost savings within the IV solution manufacturing facility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable practices into daily operations, ensuring alignment with corporate sustainability goals.
  • Monitor and analyze energy consumption data, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement in energy efficiency.
  • Evaluate and implement advanced technologies and systems to enhance energy performance and reduce carbon footprint.
  • Establish partnerships with external vendors, utilities, and regulatory bodies to stay abreast of industry standard methodologies and compliance requirements.
  • Lead employee training initiatives on energy conservation measures and foster a culture of sustainability awareness.
  • Manage relationships with energy service providers to negotiate favorable contracts and explore renewable energy options.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management, outlining key performance indicators and progress towards energy efficiency targets.
  • Drive initiatives to achieve relevant certifications, such as ISO 50001, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and standard processes related to energy power source and generation.
  • Work closely with project managers and engineering teams to define technical requirements, specifications, and timelines for purchasing automation-related equipment with the right specs and assess the energy consumption of them.
  • Work closely with Procurement, legal and finance departments to review and finalize contractual agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement streamlined energy saving initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal team members, such as operations, maintenance, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on project status, supplier performance, and key energy KPIs and metrics.
  • Demonstrate proactive communication and problem solving.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, including delivery timelines, quality standards, and cost-effectiveness. Take corrective actions as necessary

What you'll bring
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5 years of proven experience in energy management, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare manufacturing sector.
  • Strong understanding of energy-related technologies, renewable energy sources, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex energy data.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the successful execution of energy efficiency projects.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate teams at all levels.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and certifications related to energy management.
  • Ability to navigate and negotiate with external partners and regulatory agencies.
  • Proactive problem-solving mentality with a commitment to driving sustainable practices.
  • Certification in energy management (e.g., CEM, CMVP) is a plus.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $104,000 - $143,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
