The Senior Buyer Purchasing (SBP) shall be the senior buyer responsible for placing high dollar long term procurements. In this role the SBP shall negotiate pricing, establish best value and build strong supplier relationships. The SBP shall work collaboratively with all departments and coworkers to oversee all procurement activities, developing and maintaining a supply base of raw materials and hardware. The SBP shall maintain written controlled procurement procedures, oversee buying practices, establish LTA's , establish metrics to measure and improve performance and contribute to Continuous Improvement (CI) activities.

Responsibilities:

  • High level of contract experience and understanding in the aerospace industry
  • Prepare and maintain written procedures for all Procurement related activities.
  • Directly responsible for "SOX" (Sarbanes- Oxley) procedure development, maintenance and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain strong supply base
  • Strong people skills, computer skills and thorough understanding of MRP systems
  • Establish metrics to measure and improve department performance, include supplier performance, shortages, price changes, supplier quality, etc.
  • Maintain accurate MRP inputs, including supplier, lead time, price, etc.
  • Support Continuous Improvement Activities, participate in IPT meetings and be an active participant in overall company safety.
  • Work directly with PCC Procurement to establish best value purchases
  • Establish department goals to reduce costs of direct and indirect materials including process gases and supplies.
  • Monitors and ensures delivery of parts on time from the suppliers for production needs
  • Maintains parts reorder parameters and lead times in the ERP system ( PFEP - Plan for every part)
  • Control inventory levels of raw materials and direct parts and leads inventory reduction projects for purchase parts
  • Leads production rate increase projects for key suppliers
  • Maintain LTAs for key suppliers
  • Leads the outsource initiatives to identify vendors for new onboard programs

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's Degree required.

A minimum of 5 years' experience.

Preferred experience in source direct parts and raw materials in the Aerospace industry

Demonstrated knowledge of ERP systems and experience interacting directly with suppliers

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $93,000 to $140,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
