Pay Range Information
Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate's qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.
Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary
Under the direction of the Dean and Associate Director of Admission, the Graduate Programs Specialist participates in the entire graduate admissions process for Dodge College of Film and Media Arts (DCFMA). This position will be responsible for creating and developing recruitment strategies for graduate programs and participating in graduate recruitment events. Other duties include updating applications, coordinating processes for reading and reviewing applications, maintaining, and analyzing reports, communicating regularly with the university graduate admissions office, and maintaining current admissions information on the website. Additional duties as needed.
Responsibilities
Admission and Recruitment Duties:
  • Work with the Associate Director of Admission, Director of Dodge College Admission in the development and implementation of recruitment plans and strategies that align with the Dean's goals.
  • Recommend and develop new approaches to attracting the most competitive candidates to the university and advise on the recruitment of talented students.
  • Assist with faculty application review process: allocate files to faculty, track reviewers' schedule and progress, provide troubleshooting and assistance as needed. Assist with the review of applicant files.
  • Collect and analyze recruitment and admissions data, presenting it to Associate Director of Admission and Deans.
  • Oversee and manage the admitted student outreach and communications efforts including graduate visit opportunities.
  • Coordinate and participate in off-campus recruiting events including college fairs, panels, and internal university events.
  • Provide information and guidance to prospective applicants on processes and eligibility requirements. Manage prospective student interview process for graduate programs including schedules and tours.
  • Manage special projects as assigned by Associate Director of Admission.
  • Research and evaluate the demographic and academic characteristics of similar graduate film programs, in order to create an annual recruitment outreach plan and develop a market analysis.
  • Collaborate with Associate Director of Admission and Director of Communications to create a strategic marketing plan to achieve recruitment goals.
  • Serve as a liaison to Graduate Admissions Office. Attend all graduate admission meetings and communicate regularly with Graduate Admissions Counselor.
  • Some travel and weekend work hours are required.

Admission Office and Daily Operations:
  • Oversee the usage of communications software "Unibuddy."
  • Supervise graduate admissions student staff including recruitment, hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • In coordination with the Admissions Office, oversee and manage schedule for DCFMA graduate tours on "Slate" system.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in admissions, recruitment, or related field.
  • Excellent written & oral communications skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate work from various departments and ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Proven ability to handle simultaneous deadlines, communicate effectively and maintain a positive composure
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse constituents at all levels.
  • Strong technical skills to learn and use Chapman's enterprise applications
  • Skilled in analyzing, interpreting, and reporting data, with the ability to solve problems and provide accurate information and recommendations
  • Interest in higher education admissions process
  • Skills in record maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and web applications.
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to show self-initiative.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy, maintain confidentiality and follow FERPA regulations
  • Knowledge of film and media arts
Desired Qualifications
Experience in developing and implementing recruitment plans
Basic knowledge of Dodge College and Admission policies and eligibility requirements.
Ex
perience in providing administrative support in a professional office.
