Job Description

Job Summary: The Coordinator-Comm Dev & Outreach is responsible for the coordination of the Community Development & Outreach Department programs including PossAbilities, Just for Seniors, as well as campus-wide outreach initiatives and activities. This position will work closely with the Director, staff, students, volunteers, and community partners to carry out all activities associated with these initiatives. Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize the highest level of customer service and maintain a professional demeanor among a culturally diverse workforce. Travel to and from events including multiple overnight stays independently. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience: Associate's Degree in Business or related required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Minimum four years of professional office experience required.

Knowledge and Skills: Must be able to write, type on a computer keyboard, use computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Access). Must be an effective communicator that possesses leadership skills with the ability to see project through to fruition. Must be open minded, flexible, a team player, self-starter, and work independently. Must be able to recognize and prevent potential problems or issues. Ability to deal with stressful situations and find resolutions in a demanding and fast-paced work environment. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer software and spreadsheets (excel, word, PowerPoint), and other software programs necessary to the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others, be assertive and consistent in following policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure, collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to: hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place; see adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary to position.

Licensures and Certifications: Valid Driver's License at time of hire.
