Job Description

Job Summary: The Manager-Patient Care ECT provides administrative, human resource and financial management for designated program(s)/department that provided direct and indirect patient care for an age-specific population with a defined scope of service; oversees patient care. Collaborates with administrative director and physicians to provide age-specific quality care. Ensures areas of responsibility comply with requirements of planning regulatory agencies and LLUBMC policies. Develops, implements, and maintains policies and procedures that guide and support the ECT program and scope of service. Develops, implements, and maintains a unit/department-specific performance improvement. Has budgetary responsibility. Mentors and coaches staff. Provides direct clinical service as appropriate. Serves as a liaison between departments of Psychiatry, Anesthesia and the Outpatient Surgery Center (OSC). Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Health related field required. Master's Degree preferred. Minimum two years of ECT nursing experience required. Minimum one year of supervisory and/or managerial experience preferred. Additional six years of experience in lieu of degree.

Knowledge and Skills: Able to read, write and speak with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access; operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, mentor, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.

Licensures and Certifications: Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License required. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
