Position Summary:
As part of the Susan & Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences, the UCI Program in Public Health is dedicated to the achievement of health equity for all populations through research, teaching, service, and public health practice, locally and globally. Championing the principles of evidence-based public health science, the Program's community aspires to understand and impact population-level social, biological, and environmental determinants of health and well-being. Established in 2003, UCI Public Health has one of the largest and most diverse undergraduate programs in the country. The Program is made up of approximately 1,300 undergraduates and roughly 200 graduate students as of Fall 2022, and has nearly 175 dedicated faculty and staff who support the Program's academic programs and research endeavors.
This position supports a professor and highly ranked administrator with a large research portfolio. This incumbent should have extensive researching skills with excellent writing and editing skills, an understanding of qualitative and quantitative data analyses, and creating presentation decks. Understanding of public health is a required. Research topics for presentations and manuscripts. Ability to analyze data and interpret results and draw inferences and conclusions to write reports, papers and present findings. Support the development and renewal of Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications and proposals. Draft presentations, articles, and manuscripts for publications and conferences. Assist with electronic communications as well as other types of written communications within research team (faculty, staff, students) and with community partners, as needed. The expected pay range for this recruitment is $81,900.00 - $116,200.00 (Annual Salary). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $81,900.00 - $150,500.00 (Annual Salary).

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Thorough knowledge of research function.
  • Thorough skills associated with statistical analysis and systems programming.
  • Thorough skills in analysis and consultation.
  • Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.
  • Skills in project management.
  • Research skills at a level to evaluate alternate solutions and develop recommendations.
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent research skills, formatting APA/MLA or required format for publications
Preferred:
Master's degree preferred in health sciences, public health or similar field
Special Conditions Required:
Hybrid schedule but some weeks may require in-office days than others
