The Physical Therapy Residency is a 1-year program for an individual who is responsible for assisting the director and manager in the operational aspects of a department or unit. The Physical Therapy Resident provides quality patient care and family training through evaluation, treatment planning, and the application and assignment of physical therapy modalities and procedures in accordance with the regulations governing the practice of Physical Therapy and in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the City of Hope National Medical Center. This individual actively assists in performance improvement initiatives, either through direct involvement or membership in PI team efforts. It is expected that the individual who holds this position is able to actively participate with peers, subordinates, and supervisors in constructive problem solving, as well as to facilitate frequent team building interactions with staff.
