The Civil Engineer will play a key role in the planning, design, and execution of various civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience in civil engineering. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful completion of projects, meeting high-quality standards, and adhering to project timelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares the details of project plans, estimates, calculate quantities, reports & prepare exhibits as assigned and directed
Provides QC support by following the appropriate procedures as outlined
Coordinates In-house departments and sub-consultant deliverables (including but not limited to field surveying, structures, right of way, traffic, geotechnical and environmental elements)
Demonstrates a working knowledge of current engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation, open Road, etc.) and follows drafting and file naming standards
Prepares technical reports with reasonable independence
Takes responsible charge of engineering deliverables for certain components of projects or for small projects in their entirety
Ensures that lower engineering staff, technicians & interns are using current standards and efficiently applying appropriate software
Coordinates and supports construction activities
Verifies accuracy of project plans, cost estimates, quantities, reports, and exhibits
Applies knowledge of engineering procedures to applicable projects and assignments
Participates at a committee level in professional organization
Mentors and manages internal design team efforts
Conducts internal technical training to staff to ensure compliance with drafting standards project requirements, and current engineering practices
Gains knowledge of scope, budgets, agreements, and financial reporting systems
QUALIFICATIONS
BS degree in Civil Engineering, MS in Engineering is a plus
California Professional Engineer (PE) License required; or PE in another state with the ability to obtain CA Licensure within one year
2-5+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience
Demonstrated ability to delegate and lead design groups
Demonstrated proficiency knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation, open Road, etc and other relevant engineering software
Knowledge and experience with MS Office to include MS Project, Teams, etc.
Demonstrated proficiency knowledge of general engineering principals, statics, dynamics of structures and general engineering design
Knowledge of engineering procedures (right of way acquisition, environmental clearance, utility relocation)
Knowledge of construction practices
Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a variety of unique and diverse people and personalities
Possession of a valid driver's license

Compensation Range:
