As a Financial Counselor, you will be responsible for:
Verifying accurate demographic and financial information
Reviewing and interpreting insurance benefits
Providing financial counseling and screening
Handling charity applications and credit assessments
Establishing all financial arrangements and refer appropriate cases to other agencies to assist patients with discharge/post hospital care.
Working closely with Patient Placement, Care Coordination, Social Services, and Patient Business Services to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
Ability to write concise, grammatically correct reports and correspondence
Proficient in basic math
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
Salary Range: $30.94 - $44.42/hourly
Qualifications

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including proper phone etiquette
Bilingual English/Spanish abilities
PC proficiency and basic math knowledge
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Understanding of third-party payer relationships as well as relevant state and federal health programs
Strong organizational skills
Ability to adapt to and implement changing registration procedures
Independent decision-making skills and sound judgment
Flexibility in working varied schedules and at a variety of locations when necessary
