Description

The Deposit Processing Manager is responsible for overseeing 50+ processes related to operations, escheat, item processing, call back of critical processes, adjustments and overall performance of the department. The position provides leadership, guidance, coaching and teaching to employees in support of their performance within the department. Areas of responsibility cover bank operations, back-office processing, compliance, controls, and customer service in order to meet the Bank's objectives. The Deposit Processing Manager creates and makes recommendations based on gap identification with regards to existing policy and procedures to reflect streamlining and efficiency gains within the department and the Bank. The Deposit Processing manager is able to engage with the appropriate internal business partners in order to plan and implement new projects as directed by the Director of Deposit Processing. The Deposit Processing manger acts as an information source and advisor to the Director of Deposit Processing while facilitating an intricate role in M&A activity to ensure all operational obligations are met without gaps. The position is responsible disaster recovery testing as well as for the overall operations of the Deposit Processing Department with critical focus on adherence to Bank policies/procedures and effective internal controls.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support and collaborate with other Bank departments and business partners such as but not limited to Bankers Support, IT, Retail Banking, Accounting, Lending and Treasury Management as it relates to Bank systems, policy/procedure and customer service.
  • Identify opportunities to create efficiencies on the front line in retail banking by way of centralization.
  • Provides leadership, direction and guidance to the deposit processing management team.
  • Responsible for supervisory duties such as hiring, firing, coaching training, directing and scheduling work, performance evaluation, disciplinary action, handling grievances, approving timecards, etc.
  • Support individual development plans through the "Let's Talk" program.
  • Assist Director of Deposit Processing with maintaining vendor relationships as they relate to systems and procedures assigned to Deposit Processing as well as providing quarterly statistical information as needed.
  • Assist Director with approvals and M&A activity.
  • Work with auditors, both internal and external Compliance and ERM when appropriate in responding to Bank audits and examinations.
  • Stay abreast of compliance matters affecting branch activities and initiatives especially deposit related regulatory guidelines.
  • Stay abreast of processing changes related but not limited to UCC and FRB guidelines with the additional ability to identify, plan and implement any needed changes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of Bank Operations back office processing experience required.
  • Must possess expert level knowledge and experience to support retail banking and direct staff on matters relating to bank operations.
  • 5+ years management experience required.
  • Must possess experience with managing employees to effectively direct staff and activities in the Deposit Processing Department.
  • Must possess project management experience in driving projects and collaborating with various teams.

A reasonable, good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base salary or pay for this position is $110,483 to 165,725. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. A discretionary bonus and/or business line incentive may be provided, in addition to a medical and other benefits, dependent on the position.
