As an Asset Allocation Strategist, the primary focus will be on the development of an analytical framework for asset allocation for institutional clients with a priority on public pensions
Additionally, you will focus on client engagement and partnership with Senior Pension Solutions Strategist to develop solutions for clients, prospective clients, and gatekeepers
Develop an institutional asset allocation framework that can plug into multiple client types with a priority on public pensions
Contribute to the formulation of institutional asset allocation and investment beliefs
Model prospective clients' portfolios providing insightful analysis which will assist in the development of strategy, helping clients make appropriate and timely investment decisions
Develop analysis and reports relating to Pension Solutions and Fixed Income at Capital Group, leveraging appropriate technological solutions and tools
Understands the commercial connection with analysis that can first help solve client problems and then demonstrate how Capital Group can be a part of that solution
Build custom client ready presentations based on the unique objectives of Public Pensions
Works with specialists to prepare asset allocation and portfolio construction analysis
Provides analysis within institutional investor timeframes
Work closely with Senior Strategists on research projects, including authoring of white papers and other technical content.
Collaborate with colleagues in cross-functional teams including sales, portfolio management, marketing, product development, results analysis, legal & compliance, etc.
Reports to the Head of IS&A (Institutional Strategy & Analytics) while working closely with Head of Pension Solutions and Senior Pension Solutions Strategists
I am the person Capital Group is looking for:
Minimum of 10 years' experience in an analytical role focusing on Asset Allocation, Multi-Asset and/or Fixed Income in the institutional space
Strong technical background, including building and evolving quantitative models, coding capability
Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop recommendations and support assertions with relevant quantitative and qualitative data
Demonstrated previous experience with client engagement related to asset allocation
Experience and understanding of all asset classes, including equities, fixed income, and alternatives.
Experience developing and evolving asset allocation tools to build a best-in-class asset allocation framework to engage Public Pensions.
Experience understanding and utilizing proprietary Capital Market Assumptions (CMA's)
Solid foundation of macroeconomic environment and implication of changes
Track record of functioning under tight deadlines
Ability to manage own priorities and collaborate successfully with others as part of a team
Use initiative, be pro-active and with problem solving abilities
Easily adapt to changes in the business environment
Ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A proven team player, with ability to engage with Head of Institutional Pensions Solutions and other senior business leaders
Technical proficiency in Barra, Bloomberg, Excel, and other commonly used analytical tools
Advanced degree or CFA designation a plus

This role requires the Series 7, Series 63 (or equivalent) and the Series 65 (or equivalent)
Southern California Base Salary Range: $171,968-$292,346
New York Base Salary Range: $182,310-$309,927
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
