Howmet has an immediate opening for a Furnace Technician in our Rancho Cucamonga Operations. This position is a key member of the Facilities team, is a highly visible position that will require traveling to different sites within California.
Howmet Engines is a world-class producer of aero engine and industrial gas turbine components, including airfoils, forged rings, disks and forgings. We excel in vacuum melted superalloys, machining, performance coatings and hot isostatic pressing for high performance parts that enable the next generation of quieter, more fuel-efficient aero engines and cleaner power generation.
SUMMARY
The furnace technician will be responsible for performing repairs, preventative maintenance, Temperature Uniformity Surveys (TUS), System Accuracy Tests (SAT) and furnace control instrument calibrations. Troubleshoot and repair furnace instruments and combustion systems to maintain operation of furnaces in a Quality environment in accordance with quality compliance procedures.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
BS preferred, AS, High school diploma or GED and five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple to complex instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as correction factors, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving multiple variables in changing situations.

Must have a valid forklift certification.
