Position: Post-doctoral Teaching Fellow
The Department of Integrative Anatomical Sciences is searching for aPost-doctoralTeachingFellowto begin August 1,2023or soon thereafter. Teaching responsibilitieswillinvolvethe medical school's gross anatomy course with full cadaver dissection and an undergraduate-level anatomy course with cadaverprosections; both courses are team-taught with other departmental faculty and postdoctoral teaching fellows.Teaching utilizes ournewly-renovatedgross anatomy lab, featuring traditional dissection and extensive computer-based technologies.
While the successful applicantwilldemonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, the department is alsointerested in recruitingindividuals with astrong commitment to research in some area of the anatomical sciences, ideally evolutionaryand functionalmorphology.There are ample opportunities for collaboration within the department, whose faculty have a strong focus on evolutionaryand functionalmorphology of mammals (Drs. Kristian Carlson, AdamHuttenlocker, Addison Kemp, KristiLewton, Craig McGowan,BirenPatel, and ErikSeiffert), as well as with basic sciences and clinical faculty throughout the Keck School of Medicine, theDornsifeCollege of Letters, Arts, and Sciences, the Division ofBiokinesiologyand Physical Therapy, and others. This is a 2-year position, potentially renewable for a third year with permission of the department chair. The fellow will receive a salary and benefits commensurate with training and experience.
The annual base salary range for this position is $62,400-$75,000.
